Summary Box is a Chrome extension that enables you to summarize any article or piece of content you browse on the internet. It uses state-of-the-art text summarization artificial intelligence to do this. To use it, all you have to do is click on the extension button on your browser navigation bar when you're viewing an article. Summary Box also displays buttons automatically for you when it detects you're viewing a long article. And on key websites like Google, Medium, Wikipedia, NYTimes and more, Summary Box will display a TLDR section at the top of the article so that you don't even have to do anything to read a summary.
Summary Box currently uses extractive text summarization. This means that it extracts the key sentences out of an article and combines them to create your summary. We are currently in the process of integrating the world's most powerful language AI model, which will enable Summary Box to create summaries that are written in the AI's own language (abstractive text summarization). This is an even more powerful form of summarization that will be available soon.
Our ultimate goal is to help you read and process information on the web faster. As the years go by, the amount of content that we need to keep up with increases. It's impossible to stay up-to-date with everything. By integrating text summarization capabilities with the browser, we are effectively able to utilize a seamless interface between human and AI.
